Due to my curiosity, (which involves opening an envelope that says confidential) I found out yesterday that some of us will be getting a salary adjustment, a very miniscule salary adjustment. And that was solely because of the P20 ECOLA raise granted by the National wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) to workers in Metro Manila. Wow! Thanks a lot! That would not even compensate a week of my transportation

“This so-called increase is immaterial and a grave insult to the workers,” Joel Maglunsod, KMU secretary general, lamented. Damn right! I've been nagging my boss to give me an increase eversince he signed my Personnel Action Notice that says I'm already six months slaving for him therefore I should be a regular employee of this damn company.

What's worst is that two of the company gods are trying to contradict the salary adjustment commenting that we are not receiving a minimum wage therefore we shouldn't get the raise. To hell with them! Ow, that made me sooooo furious! How selfish can they get? Here they are receiving six-digit salary and spending four-digits of money on their lunch and they won't even spare P500 (that's three-digit...ow I'm getting good at Math!) a month for their staff! To think that that money won't even come from their pockets! It's the company's budget for Chrissake!
