"Love makes the world go round? Not at all. Whiskey makes it go round twice as fast."
Indian Moulin Rouge
I watched the film
DEVDAS yesterday. It was one of the films featured at Makati Cinemanila. I almost failed to watch the movie because first, I can't find someone who's willing to go undertime just to watch an Indian movie which starts at 6PM. And second, I doubt my boss would allow to me to go out early. Luckily, at 5:30PM, my boss called and he said he will not return to the office after his last meeting, and so I'm free to go. I turned off my computer, cleaned up the mess on my desk and off I go to Greenbelt 1. The movie was great. It was definitely worth the money and the effort. It was like watching an Indian Moulin Rouge. The production was awesome. Well, it should be because it is the most expensive Indian film made. It was a "story of love" (as palelips would probably call it) and not a "love story" (as coldbitch imagined it would be). It's not a feel good nor the mushy/corny kind of movie. It was tragic and poignant.
My favorite parts of the movie are those showcasing the colorful Indian culture. Their culture are as colorful as their costumes. The dances are perfectly choreographed and the movements are refined and very graceful. If I were a man, I would be drooling all over the place. The ladies in the movie were gorgeous. Imagine the Indian candidate in the Ms.Universe pageant multiplied by a dozen, all doing belly dancing. hehe. The guy on the other hand was not that jaw-dropping, but he certainly is charming. I think all the actors portrayed their roles very well.
I really liked the movie....now, I feel like eating Indian food...wonder how their food taste...
