I think I'm having a quarterlife crisis
I have read
an article in peyups and have read more about the same topic at
hatch magazine Then, it hit me...I'm experiencing quarterlife crisis! I am in a limbo. I have no idea as to what I want in life. I am quite sure though that I hate my present job, but I can't quit because I don't know what job I really like and if I do, I'm not sure if I'm even qualified for it. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........LIFE! so damn hard! It says in the Hatch Magazine article that "the average person holds 9 jobs between the ages 18 and 34, with more than half of those coming between ages 18 and 24". Interesting! This is my second job already. I lasted only four months on my first one and with this one, it took me five months before I started hating it and contemplating about resigning. Can you see the pattern? So maybe after a month or so I'll be gone again searching for another job. Well, maybe on the next one I can stay for at least a year. At least I'm being optimistic.........hehe. Dr. Jeffrey Arnett was also quoted from that article talking about how people who are so optimistic experience quarterlife crisis. he said that "Even if the things are going to hell around them, they, almost without exception, have high expectations for themselves. That's why there's a sense of crisis. they expect so much out of life." Yeah, I think he has a point in saying that.
I also have a plan of going back to school. I realize four years in college isn't enough to get me somewhere. Plus, I suddenly missed school when I started working. I realized after graduating that I'm really interested in Psychology and IT.
I hope my mind would become clearer before I reached my 9th job. As of now, maybe I'll just try to enjoy the freedom of having too many options and little responsibilities in life. Someday, I'm sure my mind would eventually settle on something.
