First semester is finally over. Yahoo!!! I never thought I can survive that sem. The last two weeks was just dreadful. I hardly sleep. Thanks to energy dirnk I can stay awake the whole night finishing research papers and take home exams. Yes, take home, you think that's a good thing? Nope! She only gave us three questions but required us to give her 15 pages worth of answers. Damn her! These were not the answers you can find just by reading books or browsing the net. You really have to come up with your own analysis and recommendations and of course, as always, relate it to Philippine context. Damn her! I busted my brains out answering her questions. It was due Saturday and Friday night, my team mates (sportsfest in the office) planned for our victory party...well, not so victorious really 'coz we just placed 2nd. Of course I came despite the exam..hehe. I worked hard that sportsfest, just right I took part in our celebration. We went to Strumms, a bar here in Makati. Food was okay though I didn't ate much 'coz I was thinking about my exam. The band was good but that's just not my type of music. Their singing 70's and 80's song! Nyikes! I'm the party pooper I think, before midnight I was already asking people to go home..hehe. They seem to be enjoying though. Have no choice but to stay, I don't want to go home that late, alone.I end up going home at around 2PM. The whole night I was awake typing my wits away. That's my punishment for putting my social life before my studies.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday I was working on my case study due Monday before 5PM. I don't have the luxury to start from scratch so I just recycled one chapter from my thesis. I updated the data, added analysis and recommendations...Whoala! An instant paper! hehe. Tuesday to Thursday I was working on my other paper entitled 'Gendering Leadership'. This is the bloodiest of them all. I hardly slept the whole week compiling and analyzing data 'coz she wants quantitative and qualitative research methods. Damn her! That's the same professor who gave us the killer final exam. I swear I would never enlist in any of her subjects again!
Nevertheless, I survived all of that. Come Friday night I was celebrating in a bar somewhere in Makati drowning myself in alcohol. I succeeded! I passed out the minute my back touched the bed. I woke up late..the feeling was great. No alarms to wake me up and no more papers to worry about! A friend and I went to watch a play which turned out to be for children..haha. At least we got in touch with the inner child in us. Then to compensate for that, we watched a Spanish film entitled 'Te doy mis ojos' which is a film about a battered wife and her psycho husband. A very tragic story, gave me a heavy feeling. Sunday, My brother and I raided Videocity and watched movies the whole day. We rented 'House of Flying Daggers', 'Resident Evil2' and 'Son of the Mask'. The House was really, really good. I enjoyed it a lot. I love watching Chinese epic movies. Cinematography is always good and fighting scenes are really entertaining. Resident was also good. It was kinda gorry but the fighting scenes especially the ones with Mila Jovovich is really good. I even think she equals Angelina Jolie in playing female macho roles. I can't wait for the third sequel. Son of the Mask really, really, really, sucks!!! Effects are so cheesy and even the story is sooo corny. Even if Jim Carrey risked his reputation and appears in it, he can't do anything to save the movie.
This week I plan to watch "The Lord of War" starring Nicolas Cage, Ethan Hawke and Jared Leto. Can't wait!
